Every year, hundreds of Bald Eagles congregate amongst the forested shores of Lake Coeur d’Alene to feast on spawned Kokanee salmon as part of their winter migration.
If you’ve been wanting to create images of these majestic birds against a beautiful backdrop that could include fog and snow, then this is the photography tour for you!
Be ready to spend the day watching eagles deftly pluck the Kokanee from Lake Coeur d’Alene. It’s a sight you won’t want to miss!
These majestic birds continuously lift off from the nearby branches, giving you endless opportunities to make images as the morning light shifts towards sunset.

WORKSHOP DETAILS
- Exact location of tour will be made available to paid attendees.
- Workshop will begin at 7:30 and continue until noon
- Workshop will be held regardless of weather conditions
- All ages, genders, race, and skill levels are welcome to attend
- Ethical wildlife photography behavior is required
SUGGESTED EQUIPMENT/GEAR
- Manual Camera, either DSLR or Mirrorless
- Long lenses with low f-stops for more intimate eagle portraits in low light situations is ideal but bring what you have. Never let gear stop you from getting out there!
- Wide angle for photos of lake and surrounds
- focal length suggested: 300mm or higher, either zoom or prime
- Tripod or monopod if your lens is heavy or using DSLR
- Rain, wind, and snow protection for yourself and your gear
