2024 Winter Solstice Eagle Photography Workshop

Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) Adult flies with forested background

In the 1960’s, there were only 487 breeding pairs of Bald Eagles in the lower 48. Today, our skies are graced with over 10,000 thanks to abolishing the use of DDT and the creation of stringent protections for our National bird. Thanks to the efforts of many, these majestic raptors have been returning reliably to their former haunts and if you join us for this photography workshop, you will be poised to capture their grace, acrobatics, fights, and grasping talons with lake Coeur d’Alene in the background.

Your photography guides are myself (Karen Edwards) and Diana McPherson. We’ve both got a soft spot for birds and have been taking pictures of them for years. Between the two of us, we have a solid grasp of Nikon and Canon platforms. We’re limiting the workshop size to ten participants to make sure we can answer all your questions about technique, eagle behavior, or conservation storytelling.
